Who We Are
Industrioptics is a low-voltage systems integrator built for the industrial world — heavy equipment dealerships, logistics operations, and multi-site industrial facilities across the Southeast. We design and deploy security cameras, access control, structured cabling, and networking infrastructure.
We specialize in Verkada, Hanwha, Genetec, Axis, Avigilon, and a wide range of access control platforms — not because we’re locked into one brand, but because 30+ years in this business has taught us how these systems actually perform, where they integrate cleanly, and where they don’t. That expertise is what lets us build the right solution for what a customer actually needs, backed by people who genuinely care about getting it right. That’s our differentiator in a market full of subcontractors who don’t.
We’re scaling fast, and we need someone who can get ahead of that growth before it hits the field.
The Role
The PreConstruction Manager sits at the intersection of sales, design, and field execution. You’ll be the person making sure that by the time a project reaches our install teams, the planning is done, the scope is clear, and there are no surprises. This role touches every new construction opportunity — for new customers and existing accounts — from early planning through handoff to the field.
But internal coordination is only half of it. You’ll also be a trusted consultant to our customers directly — the person their facilities and construction teams call when they need a straight answer on what will actually work for their site, not just what’s easiest for us to install. Steering the ship internally only matters if it delivers a result the customer can rely on.
This is a 30-day contract-to-hire position with benefits. We expect this to be a fast, clear evaluation window — for us and for you.
What You’ll Do
Lead preconstruction planning for new construction projects across new and existing customer accounts
Review architectural and MEP drawings to scope low-voltage systems (cameras, access control, cabling, network infrastructure) early in the design process
Produce and mark up CAD drawings — device placement, cable pathways, riser diagrams — that our field teams and general contractors can build from directly
Support the sales team during the prospect and proposal stage — site walks, technical scoping, budget-level estimates, and system recommendations
Prepare detailed cost estimates and negotiate pricing directly with subcontractors and vendors to protect project margin before work is contracted
Partner with field operations to build accurate project documentation: as-builts, riser diagrams, device schedules, and scopes of work
Identify constructability issues, conflicts, and risks before they become field problems
Coordinate with general contractors, architects, and customer facilities teams during design and preconstruction phases
Serve as a direct, trusted technical resource to customers during planning — giving them straight answers on what will actually work for their site, not just the path of least resistance for us
Maintain consistency and accuracy across proposals, drawings, and field documentation as projects move through the pipeline
What We’re Looking For
Working proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD or equivalent) — you should be able to sit down with a floor plan and produce a clean, buildable low-voltage drawing, not just mark one up
Proficient with Bluebeam, Procore (or a comparable construction management platform), and Microsoft Excel — these are daily tools in this role, not occasional ones
Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards as they apply to low-voltage system design and installation
Experience in preconstruction, project engineering, or design coordination — construction, low-voltage/security systems, or a related trade background required
Comfortable reading architectural and MEP drawings and specs, and translating them into low-voltage scope and cable pathway plans
Ready to work directly alongside general contractors and construction teams from day one — this isn’t a training-up role, we need someone who already knows how a construction project runs
Strong communicator who can work fluidly between sales conversations and field-level technical detail
Organized and detail-oriented — this role is the quality-control checkpoint before work hits the field
Experience with industrial, logistics, or multi-site commercial construction environments is a strong plus
BICSI credentials (RCDD, RTPM) or PMP certification are a plus and signal the kind of technical rigor we’re looking for, though not required
Self-starter who can operate with real ownership over the projects they touch
Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% of the time, including site visits and multi-day project work across the Southeast
What We Offer
30-day contract-to-hire path directly to full-time employment with benefits
A seat at the table across sales, design, and field operations — not a siloed role
Direct involvement in shaping how a rapidly scaling integrator builds its preconstruction process
A leadership team that treats good work and good people as the actual product
If you want to be the person who makes sure projects go right before they ever start, we want to talk to you.
